Capabilities

High Moisture Extrudates (HME)

With possible Process Zone Configurations at 40 and 60 L/D, a generously dimensioned Cooling Die and a very extensive set of standard and specialty screw elements, we are in a technologically comfortable position to tackle any HME extrusion challenge and consider this technology one of our core competences.

Texturised Vegetable Protein (TVP)

Our Lab features powder mixing, as well as fully enclosed, dustless powder handling and loss-in-weight dosing capabilities. Combined with our application lab, that allows for product testing on-site, and our extensive experience in downstream application development (i.e. for products such as meat analoges and burgers), we are proud to offer state-of-the-art product development and production capabilities for TVP.

Expanded Starch and Fibre Products

Downstream of our extruder, we employ a pneumatic cooler and potential additional traditional drying and seasoning capabilities that are perfectly suited for the creation of all types of expanded starch- or fibre-based products.

Dry & Wet Milling Processes

With a wide range of specialty, kneeding and mixing elements, a very powerful extruder motor, the possibility to run very long 60 L/D processing zones and versatile solid and liquid dosing capabilities we are confident to address any dry- or wet-milling challenges.

Solid - Liquid Separation & Press

Besides the traditional extrusion technology applications, we also handle exciting new applications such as solid-liquid separation and press processes.

While these can also be addressed with other machinery, using a twin-screw extruder allows for the integration of several additional processing steps into a single machine and running at very competitive throughput/footprint ratios.

For existing product specifications, formulations and recipes, Technology Development encompasses:

  • preliminary trials for raw material handling, dosing tests, etc.

  • screw configuration and process zone setup

  • Upscaling of existing processes

  • testing of custom equipment, such as different dies, etc.

Technology Consulting

We offer advice and constulting services all around food extrusion, including your existing or to-be production setup:

  • advice on product targets and specs, raw materials, processing parameters and processing zone setup

  • advice on improving, troubleshooting or optimising existing processes

  • support in selecting equipment suppliers and speccing out new extruders or entire extrusion lines

  • support during your equipment procurement from introduction to comissioning

Marketable Trial Batch Production

Our unique setup with very versatile equipment and operations, but in a fully qualified food-safe environment allows us to flexibly produce test-batches that are fully marketable, according to your specific needs and in compliance with existing Swiss regulation.

Contract Manufacturing

For selected customers and products, we run regular production campaigns, to fulfil their need for small batch production or to bridge supply gaps between product development and commissioning of new production lines, significantly accelerating time-to-market .
